How We Worship (FAQ)

What time should I arrive at MACC?

Maple Avenue has two corporate worship services: 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Both services last about an hour and fifteen minutes. Generally, it is recommended that you arrive about 10 minutes early.

Coffee will be available in the fellowship hall prior to the first service, so feel free to arrive in time to enjoy!  After the first service, we gather for a time of fellowship as more people arrive for our educational hour. Coffee will still be available before second service.

MACC's educational hour is from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and both adult and children's classes are offered. Guests are welcome to attend!

How do I know which class to attend?

Our Discover class is geared especially toward those looking to learn more about MACC. Each week, rotating leaders will explore one of MACC's four focus areas-connect, grow, serve, or share. The class starts over every four weeks, so it's easy to jump in any time.

What is a service like?

Both our 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services are identical.  The focus of our worship is God, and we come to celebrate what He has done for us. It is a time to respond to God's faithfulness through the singing, partaking in the Lord's Supper together, and hearing the Word of God spoken.

Our music is a blend of recent, contemporary music as well as some classic, beloved hymns. Our praise band, guided by our worship minister, leads our music.

Messages at MACC are led by our senior minister. Most often, these messages are part of a sermon series designed to help us dive deeply into God's Word. We explore how His word is relevant in our world today, tackle tough social issues, seek to understand what God expects of us as followers of Christ, and more.

Also during worship, we take communion and give our tithes and offerings. We offer a time of invitation for people wanting to give their lives to Christ or those seeking to share prayer requests with MACC leaders.

Who can participate in the Lord's Supper?

At MACC, we invite anyone who professes Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to partake in the Lord's Supper-you do not have to be a member at MACC. We encourage anyone to celebrate in this time if you belong to the global body of Jesus Christ.

What should I wear?

Jeans or skirts, khakis or T-shirts, slacks or polos, button-downs or sweaters-wear what makes you comfortable to worship at MACC. We all have different styles! It's great to dress up to show respect (a reason to dress up for church), but we also like to model that Jesus meets us right where we are (a reason for casual dress).

What should I bring?

The only thing we encourage everyone to bring is a Bible. During our service, we preach directly from the Word of God. With your Bible, it is much easier to follow along and make notes. If you forget to bring your Bible, however, there are extras under the chairs throughout our Worship Center. We preach out of the New International Version (NIV).
